Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body, with about 99% in
the bones and teeth.

Maintaining the proper level of Calcium can help prevent bone loss (osteoporosis), which commonly occurs in women after menopause but may occur in older men as well. Calcium is also important for maintaining healthy teeth by maintaining the layer of enamel on the surface of your teeth.

Studies have shown that maintain the proper level of Calcium aids in the maintenance of normal blood pressure and can reduce the risk of colon cancer. Women who take at least 1200mg of calcium every day may decrease the duration and severity of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

Vitamin D aids in the absorption of calcium and maintaining the proper levels is crucial to form and maintain strong bones.

Recent research indicates that Vitamin D may provide protection from hypertension (high blood pressure) and can prevent certain types of cancer.
